From the pre-installed applications we can find the ChatON client, Samsung alternative for instant messaging sessions and Social Hub, an application that provides access to social networking, email and instant messaging, presenting information in a single Inbox.

Galaxy Y Pro DUOS comes with a 2.6-inch TFT screen with resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and uses the space to include a QWERTY keyboard. The hardware offers similar features and comes with the same Android 2.3 Gingerbread system.

The package includes the Polaris suite delivered applications for editing and viewing Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF. Find My Mobile application is a service that allows owners of Samsung mobile phones to track a lost phone and if necessary provide an effective way to block the operation of a lost phone and even secure deleting personal information left in its memory. Social Hub Premium also offers access to push email and messaging services, according to the contact list and calendar synchronization between your phone and user accounts from MSN, Yahoo and Google.

Samsung Galaxy Y DUOS and its brother with QWERTY keyboard, Galaxy Y Pro DUOS will be available in Europe since January. Unfortunately Samsung did not give details on prices.

The collaboration between Microsoft and Nokia is anything but a secret. Nokia has decided to support the new operating system as its way of handling their dwindling market share to phones with rival mobile OS, the Android and iOS. The early result of this is the Nokia Lumia 800.

At an early glance, users may mistake this with the N9, another flagship model of Nokia based on Meego but although it looks the same, the internal component is nothing like it. It has a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It sports a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm processor with 512MB on-board RAM and also has a 16GB storage capacity as opposed with the N9 64GB storage capacity. In some cases, the N9 has better specs than the Lumia 800 but then again, it all depends on the stability of the OS.

Like most WP7 mobile phones, there is little to no glitches on the Nokia Lumia 800 thanks to the strict requirement imposed by Microsoft. The phone runs nicely and eloquently thanks to its AMOLED display. Nokia first start on WP7 is in line with what is expected by them by the customers and hopefully it will help the company to regain its dwindling market share again. 

Let’s face the facts and man up – how many of us comply to state laws that require us to use hands-free kits whenever we attend to an incoming call? I would suppose many of us take chances that the men in blue aren’t watching, but then again to be fair, the law was enforced because research has clearly shown that we cannot fully concentrate on what is ahead of us on the roads if we were to be occupied by the conversation that is being held at the moment, especially when it is with an engrossing friend.

Well, you might loathe Bluetooth headsets simply because of the way it looks while you wear one, but sometimes aesthetics will need to be sacrificed for the greater good – that is, safety of everyone else on the road. Of course, with today’s modern smartphones, having yet another power zapping feature turned on might be a step backwards, but on the other hand you have the advantage of using both hands to do some other stuff without having to crank your neck sideways to one side in order to cradle the phone. Nokia might have something worth your attention and money with their Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset.

Nokia might have missed the memo and realized that it is already autumn for those of us living in the northern hemisphere, offering the Luna Bluetooth headset in brighter colors apart from the standard issue black colored models that you’re used to seeing people wear all this while. What makes the Luna all the more special would be the inclusion of NFC capability, so handsets with built-in NFC such as the Nokia C7, Oro, 600, 603, 700, 701 and N9 will all be able to play nice with it, freeing up Bluetooth for some other device to work with your phone.

Coming in a 2-piece design, the Nokia Luna comprises of a base and the bit that goes into your ear. Whenever the earpiece is removed from the base, it will automatically kick start the Bluetooth connection to your handset and answer incoming calls. Tipping the scales at just 5 grams for the headset, it boasts up to eight hours talktime or sixty days standby – assuming, of course, you place it back in the holder.

You will be able to pick up the Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset in black, white, fuchsia, green, yellow and blue shades for around €69 a pop prior to taxes sometime before the year is over.

That wonderful smartphone, HTC Hero S, which just released for US Cellular, will also support the Sprint network, very soon. Though a fairly recent release, the Hero S has now become the current craze among smartphone lovers, especially among diehard HTC fans (like me!).

Apparently, the FCC has already nodded its approval for the Sprint Hero S. The hardware for the new version of the Hero S smartphone will support Sprint’s particular network type, which includes WiMAX and CDMA in the older iDEN band.

The FCC has therefore approved two distinct variants of the Hero S smartphone. The one for US Cellular has been described in FCC’s official documents as having the WiMAX “operation disabled by software change only”. The Sprint version of the Hero S, obviously, is WiMAX enabled.

As many of you may already know, the original HTC Hero was Sprint’s very first Android smartphone. The new Hero S includes interesting upgrades to the previous model. Features include a 1.2GHz Snapdragon S2 processor, qHD display, GSM/WCDMA networks supporting global roaming, front-facing camera and more.

Right now, no official statement has been made either by Sprint or HTC on this issue. But we sure do expect action soon. 

It seems that right now all of HTC new phone has a great ring to it and why shouldn’t it be when phones with the names such as Titan, Sensation and a few others were released. Now, another mobile phone with a great name called the HTC Amaze 4G was released. Here are some excellent collection of what the phone is and not.

First of all, it is a 4G HSPA+ phone which can run on T-Mobile 4G networks. It is amazingly fast at a maximum of 42Mbps. Add that with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and you’ll get an extremely fast phone, comparable to the HTC Thunderbolt as well. It also has a 1GB RAM which can handle a lot of applications without a hitch.

The LCD on the other hand looks slightly pixilated which may not put it as good as the phones with the Super AMOLED screen. However, to a lot of users, the screen may be more than sufficient for daily usage.

One thing that we can say about the phone however is that it consumes battery, lots of ‘em. Make no mistake as even light usage can suck the battery life drastically in just such a short time. Other than that, we have no problem with the HTC Amaze 4G as it is an ‘amaze’-ing phone nonetheless.

If your hands are cuffed with limited budget to buy a new phone, then Amazon has something to surprise you.

For a limited time period, Amazon is giving away 30 Verizon phones for just a penny. The only criterion is; you should sign a new contract. The range of phones available under this deal includes Blackberry, LG, Samsung and Android-based gadgets.  Unfortunately, iPhone 4S is not available within this deal. The offer is valid till October 17 and the deal starts from today.

Though there could be some activation charge for some of the devices, not for all and Amazon has not yet unveiled details on the same. Motorola Droid Bionic, which was released in September, is on the hit list as it is known for super-fast Internet access and high-quality apps. This is a golden offer for those who were thinking of buying Motorola Droid Bionic as this is the first dual-core LTE phone available in the market today. Apart from Motorola, there are a couple of HTC phones also available under this deal. Above all, the HTC Thunderbolt is also available.

Toshiba is all set to make use of the latest Cloud technology. The multi-national company will now add a cloud backup feature to their Canvio hard drives.

They have also introduced Canvio hard drives for computer gadgets which support USB 3.0 giving transfer speed up to 6Gbps compared to the USB 2.0 which gives only 480 Mbps. The Canvio hard drives are available in 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB. These hard drives also come with a user interface to help customers access the cloud for storage. Once the customers plug in the Canvio hard drive they will get an option to make an account with BackupNow EZ which is run by Microsoft Azure. After making the account the user can select the files he/she wants to store in the cloud.

This service is not free. A 30-day free period will be given to all the Canvio owners but after that payment will be required to store data in the cloud. The Canvio can also be used as bootable drive in case the computer crashes. Canvio is protected from daily movement when placed in pocket, bag or desk. Canvio 3.0 costs $89.99 for 500GB and $139.00 for 1TB model.
