Synopsis

Cocoon -- a utopia in the sky. Its inhabitants believed their world a paradise. Under the Sanctum's rule, Cocoon had long known peace and prosperity. Mankind was blessed by its protectors, the benevolent fal'Cie, and believed that tranquil days would continue forever. Their tranquillity was shattered with the discovery of one hostile fal'Cie.

The moment that fal'Cie from Pulse - the feared and detested lowerworld - awoke from its slumber, peace on Cocoon came to an end. Fal'Cie curse humans, turning them into magic-wielding servants. They become l'Cie - chosen of the fal'Cie. Those branded with the mark of a l'Cie carry the burden of either fulfilling their Focus or facing a fate harsher than death itself. A prayer for redemption.

After the main mission is done Kelly will send a message to your terminal. To make this happen you must have spoke the first time you met, then everytime you got a new member throughout the game and agreed with her in a flirty way. You also have to make sure that when the option comes to ask 'Are you into aliens?', the other thing you need to do is take her out for a meal, to do this talk to her after you recruit Samara and flirt with her.

The final thing you have to do is when you have finished the mission with Joker then go straight through the Omega 4 Relay and you will save her instead of seeing her die in the case on the last mission.

To get the message to come up after the game you must not be in a romance with anyone, for example, when you end a romance then the message will come up (it's basically waiting to pop up). This happens because you need to use the computer terminal in your cabin to call her down and if your already romanced with someone then it will have the option to call that person down instead. If you have followed all of these steps and it still doesn't show then head to a planet, come back and and go check your mail it should be there now.

Completion bonuses

Successfully complete the game. Extra Paragon and Renegade points

During conversations, look carefully for a prompt at the top left area of the screen. Quickly press LT when the wings appear for extra Paragon points. Quickly press RT when the star appears for extra Renegade points.

Easy max skills

Have at least four available skill points and a skill ready to be evolved to its fourth form. While evolving a skill from level 3 to level 4 at the squad menu, press A + X to regain all spent squad points and keep the skill evolution. This works best if you level a skill from 0 to 4 (10 points) at the same time. Repeat this process to fill every line of your and your crew's skill tree. Note: You cannot do this trick in the patched version of the game. Easy Paragon and Renegade points

Throughout the game you will unlock training to redistribute your skill points. Talent Mastery adds a certain percentage to your Paragon/Renegade. Respec and distribute them into your Mastery repeatedly until your Paragon and Renegade are full.

Easy materials

To find some easy mining planets, go to the Micah system in the Vallhallan Threshold, and look for the three planets hidden in the asteroids. They are all "Rich" planets with a lot of materials on them to help with your upgrades. -From: Psychotic Elf

Easy skill points

Recruit Morinth to get the Dominate skill, and get a large amount of Element Zero. Buy the Advanced Training upgrade, and select Dominate. This will result in a bonus skill point, which is then used by the Retrain Powers upgrade. Repeat this process to get another skill point.

Quicker scanning for mining

While scanning a planet, do not hold LT. Instead, rapidly tap LT until you see a blip on the scanner. Then, go back over the area while holding LT to find the best location to send the probe.

Move the pointer to the left or right of the planet you want to scan. Press the Left Analog-stick and Right Analog-stick in the same direction to double the spin speed of the planet and allow you to locate resources on the grid line quickly.

Planet scanning

After scanning a planet and pressing Y, the planet information screen on the right reveals if the planet is "Rich", "Moderate", or "Poor". Rich planets give approximately 10+ good scan for ores. Ore yields vary from 1,500 to 3,000. Moderate planets give approximately 8+ good scans, but around 35% to 55% yield compared to rich planets. Poor planets give approximately 5+ scans with yields 5% to 25% compared to rich planets. Note:If there is an anomaly on the planet (typically a rich planet) and you land before you scan, usually the Star Map on the Normandy will put you in a strange location away from the anomaly planet. You must then go back and rescan to get your ores.

Easy Geth Pulse Rifle

Change the difficulty to Hardcore before you land on the planet. Successfully complete Tali'Zora's recruitment mission to find the Geth Pulse Rifle in the room where you find Tali. You can then change the difficulty back to its original setting.

Cryo Bomb

This trick requires any Biotic that lifts your enemy off the ground and the Cryo Bomb tech. Use the Biotic to lift the enemy off the ground, then hit him or her with the Cryo Bomb while they are still under the Biotic's effect. This will cause him or her to be stuck in a permanent falling state, where they are not capable of causing any damage. This is very helpful when trying to prevent the deployment of Harbinger, as once he enters the glitched body he cannot move. Thus, you can kill him at the end of a fight to prevent him from jumping into another body.

Rapid fire M-920 Cain

Shoot the M-920 Cain, and keep [Fire] held while pressing [Reload] after each shot. The shots will keep firing during the previous shots' explosions.

Getting Dominate ability and keeping Samara alive

Dominate is a very useful Biotic ability that allows you to control organic enemies and turn them into allies, similar to the Hack ability that controls synthetics. In order to get this ability as a Loyalty mission bonus to use for your character, you must help Morinth kill Samara during Samara's Loyalty mission. However, it is possible to keep Samara on your team but still get Morinth's Dominate ability by using the following trick. Play Samara's Loyalty mission up to the point where Samara confronts Morinth. Save the game immediately before the confrontation. When you must choose who to eliminate, choose the option that allows Morinth get the upper-hand on Samara and kill her. Create a separate saved game file. Go to the ship, and talk to Morinth. Load the previous saved game, then have Samara kill Morinth. You will now get to keep Samara as a squad mate and have Morinth's Dominate ability when you choose a bonus Loyalty power to add to your character in the prototype upgrade screen.

Romancing Yeoman Kelly Chambers

Talk with Yeoman Kelly Chambers often, and choose the kind responses. Invite her to dinner when you get the option. Do not let Kelly die during the final mission, and select a loyal escort for the crew in the final scene. After completing the game, talk to Kelly. You will get an e-mail from her. Go to your quarters, and invite her up using your console to get the romance scene.

The publisher has said it will limit the number of Star Wars: The Old Republic copies that will be available at launch through both retail and digital channels to ensure server stability. While EA has already established what the exact number of copies sold will be, it will not be announcing that figure. If and when that sales figure is reached, the publisher plans to cease digital sales through its Origin downloadable storefront while it expands server capacity.

Electronic Arts today confirmed that the Bio-Ware-developed MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will launch December 20 in North America, and December 22 in Europe. Since June, the publisher has been proclaiming a general 2011 release window for the game.

Electronic Arts said in February that The Old Republic would be "substantially profitable" with just 500,000 subscribers, with anything above 1 million monthly users making the game "very profitable." Analysts have pegged the game's opening sales at anywhere from 1 million to 3 million units.

The new plan will see the company launch Dota 2 as quickly as possible, with the core roster of heroes that was used for The International tournament held at Gamescom 2011 earlier this year. The beta will still be invite only for a time, but Valve is planning to provide a steady flow of updates with additional heroes and features.

In a post on Microsoft's Major Nelson blog, Xbox Live policy and enforcement team head Stephen Toulouse announced that a number of recent bannings are being overturned on further review.

"We're still conducting our review but the cause appears to be a software issue, not an error on the part of the enforcement team's normal actions," Toulouse said. "It's very specific and occurred between August 29 and September 9, affecting a very small percentage of users." Toulouse emphasized repeatedly that banning consoles is something his team takes seriously and stressed that the number of mistakenly banned systems was a "tiny set" of those axed from the service during that period.

As for those who found themselves on the banned list unjustly, Toulouse said they don't need to take any action to restore their service, as they should already be able to connect to Xbox Live like normal. Additionally, they will automatically have their account credited in the coming days with 1,200 Microsoft points and three months of Xbox Live Gold.

"You have my assurance that we are investigating how this error occurred and have since discontinued use of the software that was used," Toulouse said.

Resistance is futile

SONY is in making its final preparations for the launch of the much-awaited PlayStation3-exclusive videogame, Resistance 3.

This time around players will be donning the boots of Joseph Capelli to save humanity form being enslaved by alien invaders called the Chimera.

The Chimeras are slowly turning the planet into an arctic wasteland, and you'll have to fight the merciless alien invaders who are now more merciless and smarter thanks to a better AI engine.

You'll have access to a wide variety of weapons including the classics like the Bullseye, Auger and Marksman - all of which have a unique alternate firing mode.

When the fight gets too tough, you can call on a friend to help you out either via online or local co-op gameplay.

You can also dive into the game's multiplayer mode which will feature 16-player deathmatches and various other modes.

Sony has also updated two classic titles with HD graphics - Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection and God of War: Origins Collection.

Portal 2 is an accessible, clever, and downright hilarious adventure into the eccentric world of Aperture Science.


The Good

After the outlandish setting, ingenious gameplay, and hilarious dialogue had all run their course, Portal left you with some pretty big unknowns. Chief among them were, "What happens now?" and "How did that whole weird situation come to pass?" Portal 2 sets out to answer these questions, and in doing so travels both forward and backward from the conclusion of Portal. The result is a sequel that doesn't try to replicate the successful formula of its predecessor. Rather, it expands upon that original experience, creating something that feels initially familiar. Yet as you progress through the enthralling single-player journey and tangle with the clever cooperative campaign, any worries that things might be too familiar are swept away by the scope of your adventure and the characters you meet along the way. Once again, you are caught up in the fantastic world of Aperture Science, where hilarious and endearing dialogue is delivered by disembodied voices and artificial intelligences, and where inventive gameplay mechanics and a smooth difficulty curve make the sublime satisfaction of puzzle solving accessible to all.



While you are getting reacquainted with the basics of portals and trying to escape with your new friend, you run into your old test-administrator-slash-nemesis, GLaDOS. Though she isn't exactly happy to see you, she is glad to have a subject to run through test chambers and pester with sarcastic barbs. Her signature malevolence is alive and well, but those who have spent time testing with her before may find that her shtick has become familiar. She still has some wonderfully sinister lines, but her acerbic comments don't have the quite same shock value. Yet as you spend some time being shuffled through test chambers at her mercy, it becomes clear that her lack of bite is due to her injured self-confidence. After all, she fancied herself an omnipotent puppet master, and you tore her to pieces and threw every piece into a fire. She may be bent on your destruction, but GLaDOS is a complex character who evolves throughout these early levels. Before all is said and done, you'll once again come to cherish your relationship with that cruel AI.





A few hours into the campaign, the narrative focus expands beyond "What happens now?" to include "How did that whole weird situation come to pass?" In your explorations, you encounter new characters who provide some of the best lines in the game, and your AI companions evolve in surprising and gratifying ways. You also encounter a variety of new testing materials, from catapults to bridges made of light to gelatinous goos that splatter on surfaces and directly affect the way you move through the world. Portal 2 does a great job of introducing you to new tools and then challenging you to use them in clever ways. Successful navigation requires careful study of your environment and experimentation with the materials and surfaces available to you. There are some very tricky situations that you must puzzle your way out of, and figuring them out is always immensely satisfying.


As you journey through the massive Aperture facility, it becomes clear that Portal 2 does not merely come after Portal. Instead, it radiates outward from its predecessor, simultaneously illuminating the world that gave rise to Portal and continuing the adventure that began there. The sense of novelty is diminished, but the thrill of exploration and puzzle-solving is still intoxicating, and it's amazing how Portal 2 manages to tell a better story with disembodied voices and spherical robots than most games can with full-on humans. Your return to Aperture Science is a joyful one in this immensely appealing, laugh-out-loud funny, and thoroughly satisfying sequel.
