KUALA LUMPUR: Former Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng, who has been living in exile in Bangkok, is critically ill, according to regional intelligence sources.
Chin Peng, who turns 87 on Oct 21, was admitted to a top Bangkok private hospital on Wednesday.
His health is said to have deteriorated and family members and close friends, including those from Malaysia, have been asked to visit the former guerilla fighter.
“He is very sick. We understand that doctors are sending out messages to his family members to visit him soon,” an intelligence official said.
It is understood that his visits to the doctors had been frequent over the last two months.
