On December 23rd, many of Japan’s biggest artists gathered at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe hall for TV Asahi‘s annual music supershow, ‘Music Station Super Live’.
This year, ‘Music Station Super Live‘ hosted performances from KARA, SNSD and TVXQ. TVXQ sang “Winter Rose” and “WHY“, while SNSD brought up the Japanese version of “The Boys” and “Mr. Taxi“. As for KARA, they performed a special Christmas version of “Winter Magic” and “Jet Coaster Love“.
On October 28th, girl group
KARA performed the ending stage for ‘
2011 K-POP Super Concert‘, which was held in the city of Busan. The girls performed their famous tracks, “
Mister” and “
Step“.
However, the audience was puzzled as to why only four members were present during the performance, as
Park Gyuri was nowhere to be seen. A
DSP Media representative explained, “
Gyuri was unable to attend the concert due to her Japanese musical, ‘200 Pounds Beauty‘.” Gyuri’s musical series
kicked off with a bang recently, and has been doing very well in Japan as it’s sold out all of its shows.
Aside from KARA, other well-known idols attended the event including U-KISS, T-ara, Jay Park, ZE:A,SISTAR, AA, Kim Hyun Joong, Big Bang, Se7en, SHINee, and Psy.

More than 30,000 international fans were in attendance for the the
SBS ‘
2011 Hallyu Concert‘ that took place in Busan on October 28th.
Kim Hyun Joong and
Ha Ji Won served as MC’s of the concert.
The fans got to see some of the biggest names in Hallyu including the likes of
KARA,
Big Bang(
Seungri,
Taeyang,
T.O.P),
SHINee, SISTAR,
ZE:A,
Se7en,
Jay Park,
T-ARA, and new rookie group
AA.
Additionally, the boys of
U-KISS were selected to be the opening act of the concert. The group is planning for their official debut in Japan and were selected to be the opening performance, as they are wildly popular in other parts of Asia and have high appeal to foreign fans. They performed their biggest hit songs including, “
Neverland“.
With the recent release of SNSD‘s newest music video for “The Boys“, sharp-eyed netizens have quickly noticed that Hyoyeon‘s shoulder cage worn in the video had previously been seen by KARA‘sGoo Hara for their “Lupin” promotions. The bronze shoulder cage is made by Korean designer Lie Sang Bong and is from his fall 2009 RTW collection. A few of the other SNSD ladies were also seen in the music video wearing clothes from Lie Sang Bong’s various collections. Both ladies added the shoulder cage on top a black dress, which is great because I think it really looks best with a black ensemble, as shown on the runway. The bronze shoulder cage itself is amazingly beautiful and it certainly adds a lot of edginess to an outfit.
Hara styled the bronze cage on top a simple black dress with leggings. She accessorized with a black hat, black gloves, and colorful heels. While the other members are donned in all black, Hara’s outfit stands out with the help of the cage and her bright heels.
Hyoyeon also layered the shoulder cage on top a black dress. She wears her hair up in a bun with a sparkly hair accessory and added black heels to complete the look. From afar, it seems like the cage is just an intricate pattern attached on the dress, don’t you think?
So who wore it better?
MBC ‘s variety program
‘Golden Fishery’ will be airing their first episode on October 19th without the ‘
Lap Guru‘ corner previously run by MC
Kang Ho Dong. Instead, the ‘Lap Guru’ corner will be replaced with a new and improved ‘
Radio Star‘.
‘Radio Star’, which was a 20-minute corner on the show, has been extended to a full 70 minutes. PD Park Jung Kyu informed SportsKorea, “We have already finished filming and trying to create something new now would be nearly impossible. We are working to edit the original corner and create something fun.”
‘Radio Star’ was originally scheduled to be divided into two segments because they ruled that 70 minutes was too long for 3-4 guests to simply discuss music with four MCs.
Girl group
KARA will feature on the episode to air on the 19th, and
Goo Hara discusses an episode that took place between her and her boyfriend,
B2ST‘s
Junhyung, as well as some heart-breaking behind-the-scenes stories.

This new version is dubbed the “Close Up” version as this video puts more of an emphasis on the close-up and the girls beautiful faces.
If you can recall, KARA also released a “Close Up” MV for
‘Step‘ last month.
KARA‘s
Goo Hara recently admitted that she was a bit upset that her junior idols did not properly greet her as their senior.
During the most recent recording of SBS‘ ‘Strong Heart‘, Goo Hara stated, “It has already been 5 years since KARA has debuted. It’s a bit strange and interesting to see how many juniors we have now,” evoking laughter.
She continued, “But our juniors these days don’t respectfully greet us first and it makes us kind of upset. Even when we go to them first to greet them and say hi, they don’t really respond.”
KARA’s own seniors like Baby VOX, Diva, Lee Kyung Sil & Jo Hye Ryun were also on set and offered some advice to her problem that caused the entire set to explode in laughter.
Also on the episode were KARA’s Park Gyuri, Kim EZ, Lee Hee Jin, Diva‘s Vicky & Jinny, Kim Sejin, Kim Hyung Bum, and Byun Ki Soo.
