It was report in late August 2011 that Lee Min Ho – one of South Korea’s most promising actors has found himself a girlfriend. Who is this luckly lady? She’s no other than his City Hunter (drama) co-actor, Park Min Young. Their agencies confirmed that the pair started dating about a month after they concluded filming the drama.
It is apparent that their love interest blossomed while filming the drama, but Lee and Park only started going out after shooting wrapped up in July 2011.
Lee and Park first met while filming a high-school themed drama in 2007 called “I am Sam“. At that time, Park was the lead actress, while Lee was only a supporting cast, having a minor role in the drama. Lee Min Ho’s status shot up when he assumed the lead role in the highly popular drama “Boys Before Flowers“.
Lovers of Korean dramas are no doubt delighted by the hook-up. Both actors are well liked and they are now dubbed the “MinMin Couple” – for obvious reasons.
The tall and handsome Lee Min Ho recently visited China was ranked the sixth Most Influential Person in China on a Chinese popular website, Weibo. Congratulations to him!
Both their agencies have requested the media to give the couple some privacy as they are just at the “getting to know each other” stage. There are not many photos of the new couple together so far. However, the Korean press is now talking about Park’s new shorter hairstyle and radiant smile – could it be the affects of her new found love?
Lee Min Ho‘s adventurous Chinese fans have recently become a hot topic after photos of the idol being chased were revealed on the internet.
In the photo revealed on September 30th, Lee Min Ho can be observed getting into a car with fans surrounding him in every direction. Despite Lee Min Ho’s big and bright smile implanted on his face, it appeared that it was quite tough for the local officers to keep the crowd under control.
The actor made his way to China from September 25th to the 27th in order to attend the launching event for Hyundai‘s new vehicle, ‘Veloster‘.
A representative of Lee Min Ho revealed, “Not only in China do the fans go wild. Any foreign country we go to, we always have cars chasing us. Due to safety issues, we contract local law enforcement agencies prior to our arrival, in order to keep things organized and safe for fans.”
Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho was nominated for ‘Best Actor’ at the 5th annual ‘Korea Drama Festival‘, planned to take place on October 2nd.
Netizens were recently able to discover a heartwarming gesture made by actor Lee Min Ho for his fans. On September 25th, the actor headed for Beijing, China to attend a launching party forHyundai‘s ‘Veloster.’
After hearing that 1,000 fans had gathered to welcome him at the airport, Lee Min Ho rejected the offer to be taken through the back V.I.P. route and personally requested that he’d like to go out there and thank all of his fans for coming all the way there.
Unfortunately, due to safety precautions, security guards took him through the V.I.P. exit after making a brief appearance to prevent any accidents. Lucky fans still managed to catch glimpses of the actor as he made his way out.
Later, on his Twitter, he wrote, “I’m worried, I hope that nobody was hurt at the airport.”
Actress Park Min Young spoke about her kiss scenes with actor/boyfriend Lee Min Ho, drawing much attention from the public.
On September 24th, KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘ visited Park Min Young on the set of a photoshoot.
The catch is that this interview actually took place before the couple officially announced to the public that they were dating. The interviewer asked what scene she remembered most from the drama ‘City Hunter‘. Park Min Young answered, “I think the sofa kiss was pretty. They both knew they liked each other, but I liked it because they seemed like a new couple.”
However, the sofa ‘kiss’ scene was actually not a real kiss scene as they didn’t end up actually kissing. Park Min Young revealed, “As a viewer, I was angry as well. But even though I was disappointed, it’s those kinds of scenes that are insatiably exciting. So that’s why I think the writer kept adding in scenes like that.”
In particular, the interviewer asked, “How can you get a boyfriend when you are so busy?” Park Min Young replied, “I date in my dramas.” Her answer was ironic because she happens to be dating her ‘drama boyfriend’ in real life, too! She also added, “On Christmas, I want to hold hands and walk around with my boyfriend” – increasing the public’s interest with her answer.
