JOHOR BARU: The presence of Immigration officers shocked several foreign guest relation officers, who then tried to escape via a secret exit.
The 10 women four from Thailand, three from Vietnam and three from Myanmar were entertaining their customers at a karaoke session when the entertainment outlet was raided, said Johor Immigration operations deputy director Hassan Silong.
“Some of them were with customers in private karaoke rooms.
“They immediately ran towards a secret exit in a separate room after realising that the place was being raided,” he said.
However, he said the women ended up being nabbed by the 15 immigration officers conducting the raid at the outlet in Taman Sentosa at around 1am here yesterday.
“Investigations revealed that the women in their 20s did not have proper identification documents.
They will be investigated for abusing their social visit passes.
“We also arrested the 64-year-old male owner of the outlet and two workers,” he said.
Hassan said the women were sent to the Immigration depot at Pekan Nenas, Pontian, while the other suspects were sent to the Immigration headquarters to facilitate investigations.
