KUALA LUMPUR: City police presented a cheque for RM103,000 to the widow of Sjn Ibrahim Mat Husin, a former police escort rider for the Prime Minister, who died of a heart attack last month.
City police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh assured Fakhriah Abdul Raof, widow of Sjn Ibrahim, that she and her family would always have a place among the close-knit city police family. “Please know that you will always remain a part of the family even with the death of your husband.
“We will be ever ready to help you in times of need,” he told Fakhriah during the cheque handing-over ceremony at the city police headquarters yesterday.
Sjn Ibrahim was born on Aug 16, 1960 in Tanjung Piandang, Parit Buntar, Perak.
He joined the police force on June 15, 1980 and was with the force for almost 31 years until his death on Sept 29.
Fakhriah, a housewife, said she would use the money to put her three sons through college.
“I am very grateful for everything the police force have done for me to have a comfortable life.”
