KULAIJAYA: A construction worker has accused a schoolbus driver of slapping and pulling his son’s hair a day after the 10-year-old boy lied about his shirt being torn.
Y. Manogaran, 39, claimed that during the incident on Oct 12, the driver also used vulgar language on his son.
“Two days earlier, my son returned from school with a torn shirt and claimed that the driver pulled his shirt.
“When my wife confronted the driver, he was in a rage and told her that my son made up the story to tarnish his name.
“After confronting my son Benjamin, he admitted that he had actually torn his shirt after getting into a small argument with a friend,” Manogaran said, adding that he quickly apologised to the 60-year-old driver.
“I thought that the matter had been settled.
“But the next day, after picking up my son from our home in Senai, he started to mock him using foul language, slapped him several times and even pulled his hair inside the bus,” he said, adding that his son had bruised cheeks.
Manogaran said he lodged a police report as well as a complaint with the school authorities.
He also stopped sending his son on the schoolbus.
Kulaijaya OCPD Supt Zulkefly Yahya confirmed the report, adding that the police would investigate the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
