All consumer electronics are getting smaller and smaller in size today. Nano technology is into the market in a big way, with tinier, yet more powerful gadgets coming in on a daily basis. Digital cameras are no exception to this rule. The digital cameras for sale today are significantly thinner than before and of much smaller form factor as well. Here is a list of the thinnest digital cameras available today.
Casio Exilim EX-S500
The Casio Exilim EX-S500 is extremely thin, weighing only 4.6 ounces. This is one of the world’s slimmest cameras to date. The thickest part of this camera is only 0.63 inches extent of its brilliant LCD screen. The camera itself is merely half an inch wide.
In spite of its small built, the digital camera has advanced functions and very versatile, yet very easy to understand and use. Its photo output is second to none. The Casio Exilim EX-S500 also gives you options such as turning video into stills and zooming in and out while recording video. You will have to purchase extra external memory, though, as the internal memory is not adequate.
Canon PowerShot SD450
This camera weighs only 5.5 ounces and measures 3.4×2.1×0.85 inches. This is one ultra-thin digital camera that is equally powerful feature-wise. Since the Canon PowerShot SD450 is so small, it can be carried around with ease. Yet, it delivers professional-quality photographs each and every time. It is a 5MP camera with 3X optical zoom.
The lens is automatically protected with a cover when the camera is turned off, so you do not have to worry about the safety of the same. This camera, though, does not have much internal memory, so you have to rely on external memory cards.
Samsung DualView TL225
The Samsung DualView TL225, also called the Review, has a slightly different design from most other ultra-thin digital cameras in the market. Its 1.5-inch LCD viewer in front lets users see themselves when they take pictures. Apart from that, the camera offers a main 3.5-inch LCD screen, 4.6X optical zoom lens, 5X digital zoom and digital stabilization system as well.
The Samsung DualView TL225 also offers a mini-HDMI connector, which enables you to view HD content on your HDTV. Only, you will have to purchase the adapter for this separately.
The only disadvantage with this camera is its very low battery life.
Nikon CoolPix S710
What makes the Nikon CoolPix S710 special is that it is an ultra-slim camera with a 3-inch LCD screen with a high resolution, 14.5MP image sensor, 3.6X zoom and more. The camera makes it easy to find views and share them. This camera performs so well that it is almost impossible to take a bad shot with it.
The problem with the Nikon CoolPix S710 is that it does not include video recording, which is a definite minus, as compared to most other digital cameras.
