KUALA LUMPUR: Two teenagers are feared drowned after they and two of their friends were swept away by strong currents while fishing in a large drain in Taman Sri Gombak, Selayang.
The four were fishing in the drain when a sudden rush of water swept them off their feet at about 5.30pm yesterday.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said two of them were later rescued at Taman Samudra about 3km away.
The two, aged 18 and 20, were sent to the Selayang Hospital.
“The other two, Muhamad Saiful Nasihin and Muhamad Ashraf Salimin, both aged 16, are still missing,” said ACP Abdul Rahim, adding that the search operation was ongoing.
